UNIVERSITY OF MANNHEIM 

Fall Semester: classes held from start of September to early December (followed by 2 weeks for exams)
Spring Semester: classes held from early February to end of May (followed by 2 weeks for exams)

Mannheim University is home to one of the most prestigious Schools of Business in Germany. But that isn’t all you can study at Uni-Mannheim. Courses in humanities, media studies, economics, law, mathematics and information systems are also available. 

The course list will be published at uni-mannheim.de/courses. Exchange students must take the majority of their courses at the school in which they will enroll. However, they can also choose one or two courses from other schools through the university-wide electives. After selecting the faculty/department and the study level, students can choose courses according to the following search fields: “all languages” or “English only.” 

Students wishing to take classes in German should be proficient at least at the B2 level. There is a wide variety of courses offered in English. 

Students can apply for student residences or look for a room on the private market. 

For exchange students from overseas, the university offers a very limited number of places in its off-campus student residences: single bedrooms in shared flats vary from €395* – €475*, single apartments from €430* – €540*. There are furnished rooms (shared kitchen and bathroom) in several residences in different areas of Mannheim. 

Contractual period for student housing: 
Fall semester 2024: 1 Aug – 23 Dec* 
Spring semester 2025: 1 Feb – 30 June* 

Rooms on the private market start at €450. 

After being accepted by the University of Mannheim, the student will receive the link 

and personal password for our student portal Portal², along with detailed information on the private housing market.
